Meet Jack Watts
For the past thirty years, Jack Watts has run a small business, specializing in marketing and consulting for non-profit organizations and publishers. In the past six years, Jack has spent more time writing than anything else. Not expecting that his life would take this direction, Jack has embraced his new role, taking “the bull by the horns,” writing extensively during this time. As a reader, you will quickly realize that Jack puts his heart and soul into his work. His candid and authentic style is captivating, while also being refreshingly devoid of meaningless religious drivel, which is what most Christian authors publish. Instead, Jack tells it like it is. As you read his work, you will quickly see that everything he writes has one purpose, and that's to help emotionally injured people heal.
That’s what Recovery from Religious Abuse: 11 Steps to Spiritual Freedom is all about—helping wounded Christians reconnect with a loving God. Now available at bookstores everywhere, it is destined to help many—with a potential audience of millions.
Hi, My Name Is Jack, which is his second book, will release some time in the future. It’s an extraordinary story of his lifelong journey of recovery from alcoholism and familial dysfunction. Part of his journey also involved religious abuse, which is why he is so passionately committed to writing about the subject.
Jack received his A.B. from Georgia State University in political science, an M.A. from Baylor University in church-state studies, and all but the dissertation for a Ph.D. at Emory University in international politics. Because of his background, knowledge, and keen interest in the subject, Jack has also co-authored We Believe: 30 days to Understanding Our Heritage with his good friend, David Dunham. Additionally, Jack has been published in two scholarly journals.
Jack loves life and has lived it to the fullest, never opting for the easy way out. He has a great family with very supportive children and grandchildren. He lives in Atlanta and has for many years.
